072609rally

Join us for one last rally to save Coney Island before the City Council votes on a flawed rezoning plan that would forever ruin Coney Island’s famed amusement district.

WHAT: Rally to Save Coney Island

WHEN: Sunday, July 26th at 1 p.m.

WHERE: By the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall

The City Council is voting on this flawed plan next week. This may be our last chance to save Coney Island!

PLEASE JOIN US!

As it currently stands, the City’s rezoning plan would:
* SHRINK Coney Island’s famed amusement district
* BLOCK OFF amusements and the beach with four soaring high-rises
* ENDANGER the neighborhood’s historic buildings, such as Nathan’s Famous

For some background, watch this short video with Coney Island “Mayor” Dick Zigun.

If you can’t make the rally, please call City Council speaker Christine Quinn, your City Council member and Coney Island Council member Domenic Recchia about this issue. Go here for instructions and more information.

AND PLEASE, PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS
