“Gone Country for Coney” Benefit a Success!

Save Coney Island’s “Gone Country…” benefit at Galapagos Art Space on January 30st was a rousing success.  Five country bands got the crowd rocking and Jakes served up tasty BBQ the whole night.  We successfully raised money to help pay for Save Coney’s lawsuit fighting the city’s rezoning plan and had a whole lot of fun, too.  Kay Sera and Jacqueline Kabat did a great job MC’ing the event and we even got to see Save Coney Island spokesman Juan Rivero in a cowboy hat.  Other highlights included Nicole Holst’s dance group’s sexy dance number and “Alamo” Eric March’s 20 minute watercolor portraits.

Many, many thanks to all of those who came out and to all of our volunteers who made the event happen.  We couldn’t have done it without you!
